Karim Arafa is a Senior Operations Manager
at El Hamamsy Marine Services Ltd.

Karim joined the company in 2009. Before joining the team, in 2003, Karim had served as a shipping agent coordinator for El-Bahariya Shipping Company, responsible for all operations of tanker vessels calling Egyptian ports. Later, in 2005, he worked as boarding and operations supervisor at the Egyptian European Maritime Company, responsible for operations of bulk carrier vessels’ performance, general cargo ships, as well as tanker vessels. Currently, Karim is responsible for handling all break bulk, heavy lift and project cargo shipments calling on El Hamamsy agency in Alexandria, Dekhila, Damietta, Port Said, Suez, Sokhna and Safaga Ports. Also, he is an expert of protecting owners, as he handles firmly all owners Protecting Agency port calls on our agency department, assuring protecting their interests and sparing no effort to save costs for owners and other ship management companies.

During his professional affiliation, Karim has gained extensive operations experience covering chemical vessels, in addition to loading and discharging of steel product shipments, such as iron ore, steel scrap, steel bars, sheets, pipes and coils, together with his vast experience in handling vessels’ operations for many mega project shipments discharged on El Hamamsy agency for the oil and gas, power generation industries and petrochemical projects. Karim’s experience drives him to ensure that during operations, the highest standards for safety of crew, stevedores, environment, vessels, cargoes and port, are applied at all times.

Karim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transport and Logistics, Economics and Management, from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria.
